Killorglin, irish "Cill Orglan", meaning Church of Orglan, is famous for its annual Puck Fair, which happens for three days, starting at 10th of August. In 2013, the market, cattle fair, party with procession happened for the 400th time. Origins are unclear, but each year, a male goat is made King of Killorglin and King of the Puck Fair. Christianization of the Puck Fair (Irish: Aonach an Phoic, meaning "Fair of the He-Goat") happened under Cromwell between 1649 and 1653. Puck Fair is one of the oldest fairs in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
