RC2X4R9B4Q7F Occupational therapist Queen Emega and Victoria Jimenez, 53, are reflected on a vending machine as they walk to a therapy session at Casaverde Neurological and Physical Rehabilitation Center in Navalcarnero, Spain, November 30, 2021. Jimenez, who became blind at the age of 38 due to brain damage, receives daily therapy at the center to improve her ability to do every day tasks and to achieve more personal autonomy. "I think it's important that people understand what we are going through. Anyone can become dependent at any moment in their lives. Healthcare is a human right, everybody should be able to get it, for as long as needed and regardless of their financial situation", Jimenez says. December 3 marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities to promote the rights and well-being of people with disabilities around the world. Jimenez feels grateful for having the support of the professionals who help her. "I'm a survivor, I have faced many challenges in my life and it has been incredibly hard. But being around people who care for me gives me the optimism I need to carry on". Picture taken November 30, 2021. REUTERS/Susana Vera
