An illustration from the book titled "A Arte Secreta de Michelangelo" (The Secret Art of Michelangelo) by Brazilian doctors Gilson Barreto and Marcelo de Oliveira shows the "Cumaean Sibyl" panel from the Renaissance artist's Sistine Chapel ceiling paintings. Barreto and De Oliveira, both doctors and amateur art lovers, believe they have uncovered a secret lesson on human anatomy hidden in the Sistine Chapel's ceiling by Renaissance artist Michelangelo. They believe that Michelangelo also scattered his detailed knowledge of anatomy across 34 of the ceiling's 38 panels, such as in the panel seen here where a bag with a red, frilly border and white rolled-up scrolls inside hanging beside the Sibyl is a depiction of the heart.
