Aboriginal artist Rosella Namok from northern Queensland sits underneath her painting titled 'Kaapay and Kuyan' at her art exhibition in Sydney May 24. The exhibition at the Hogarth Aboriginal Art Centre Gallery displays some of Namok's fine art prints and paintings. Namok, originally from the Lockhart River Aboriginal community in Queensland's Cape York, is inspired by the coral sea and rainforests, and her works express the realities of Aboriginal tradition and life in a remote community. The 'Kaapay and Kuyan' painting is a representation of the Aboriginal creation being divided into two parts, symbolising the basic structure of all things in the world.DG/LCY/CC/ME
