The Holy Parent. (Saint Anne, surrounded by her three successive husbands, Salome (blue tunic, with pointed index finger), Cleophas (with red coat, father of Marie Cleophas) and Joachim, father of the Virgin (red coat, head resting on the fist). In the centre, Christ child jugs on his cradle, the Virgin Mary who supports him, Saint Anne wearing a bloody white and behind them, with his hands raised, Saint Joseph. The child facing Christ is Saint John the Evangelist, supported by his mother Mary Salome (daughter of Saint Anne and Salome, wife of Zebedee), with his left his groin son, Saint James the middle one leans on his pelerin stick and at the back, Saint Anthony the Great (or Saint Anthony the Hermit or Saint Anthony the Abbe) recognizable with his bell, which with Saint Francois of Assisi, visible to the extreme right, are the only ones who do not belong to the line of Saint Anne. Mary Cleophas is surrounded by her sons, from right to left Saint Jude, Saint Simon, Joseph the righteous and Saint James the minor. The two characters on the back right are Zebedee, wife of Mary Salome, with hands joined in prayer and Alphee, wife of Mary Cleophas.
