MPX5131103 The Wild Boys - Coventry's sole survivors of the Punk era, are splitting up. Vocalist Johnnie Thompson is leaving to form a heavy metal band and is taking manager, Paul Vuckovic, with him. The new band which consists of three other people from local bands - has already been practising together. The break-up was on the cards anyway with Mark Byers devoting much of his time to The Tearjerkers, the band formed by his brother Roddy of The Specials. Drummer Tony Lynch and bassisst Gary Cox are still undecided about their futures but should have little problem finding positions in other local groups. 16th October 1981

This poster is promoting rail travel to whist drives, card parties and social clubs and is illustrated with game boards, chess pieces, playing cards and dice. As the text beneath the image indicates, the artist executed the illustration in tempera, here called 'the medium of the 16th century painters'.
