The Spanish scientific commission observing the passage of Venus through the solar disk, on 6 December 1882, under the presidency of the director of Royal Institute and Observatory of the Spanish Navy (Real Instituto y Observatorio de la Armada de San Fernando, Spain), Mr. Cecilio Pujazón (1833-1891). A provisional observatory was installed in the courtyard of the military hospital, at the Plaza del Fuerte, by the sea. alb4311495 Jerez de la Frontera, province of Cadiz, Andalusia, Spain. Transfer of prisoners from the prison of Jerez de la Frontera to the Cadiz jail. Jerez prison had been a former convent of friars. Converted into a jail, it housed hundreds of prisoners in poor conditions, alleged perpetrators and co-perpetrators of crimes attributed to the anarchist and secret organization called "La Mano Negra" (The Black Hand). This criminal gang acted in Andalusia in 1882 and 1883, amidst class struggle in the Andalusian countryside. The authorities decided to transfer the most dangerous prisoners to the prison of Cadiz. Gordon had been sent to Sudan to help the Egyptians withdraw their garrisons after the British decided to abandon Sudan in the face of a rebellion led by Sudanese religious leader Muhammad Ahmad bin Abdullah bin Fahal, the self-proclaimed Mahdi. They created a common front to oppose liberal forms of government in Western Europe. Three Emperors' Meeting in Skierniewicz (Poland) (15-17 September, 1884). On the evening of 16 September, Emperors Alexander III (Russia), Franz Joseph (Austria), Wilhelm I (Germany), and their respective ministers, Otto von Bismarck (German), Nikolay Girs (Russian) and Gustave Kálnoky (Austrian), met in the Tsar's palace. Collision of two trains on the Otero curve, at km. 183 of the Galicia line, between the stations of Astorga and Vega de Magaz. Express train no. 1, coming from Madrid, crashed into a goods train.
