Descrição:	Leopard with prey. View of a leopard (Panthera pardus) holding an impala (Aepyceros melampus) by the throat at night. Leopards are carnivorous big cats which spend much of their time in trees in the forests of central Africa and southern Asia. They are nocturnal, and usually ambush their prey from trees, leaping at it and delivering a killing bite to the neck. Prey is often carried back up the tree by the leopard where it can eat without being disturbed. Prey includes antelopes, pigs and monkeys. Adult leopards may reach 1.5 metres in length, excluding the tail. They are solitary animals, meeting only to mate. Photographed in the South Luangwa National Park, Zambia.
