Descrição:	Goddard bazooka research. US rocket scientist Robert H. Goddard loading a 1918 version of the bazooka of World War II. Despite receiving little recognition during his lifetime, Goddard is now hailed as a father of modern astronautics. He explored mathematically the feasibility of reaching high altitudes using rocket propulsion, and in 1926 built the first liquid-fuel rocket. His speculations about Moon rockets were ridiculed by his contemporaries, and his achievements were only recognised after his death with the dawn of the Space Age. His main research was carried out in the 1920s and 1930s. He developed this prototype of the World War II bazooka at Mount Wilson Observatory in California.
