| Descrição: | Mefenamic acid drug capsules. This non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) is used to treat pain caused by heavy periods and rheumatoid arthritis. It acts as an analgesic (painkiller), and antipyretic (fever reducing drug) as well as an anti-inflammatory drug. It is thought to work by inhibiting the enzyme cyclo-oxygenase, which synthesises prostaglandin, the molecule that transmits pain signals to the brain. In 2016 the drug was also shown to reverse the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease in mice. |
