| Descrição: | John Francis Queeny (1859-1933), US chemical industrialist, with his dog. Queeny worked in the pharmaceutical industry, initially for Meyer Brothers Drug Company, moving to St Louis, Missouri, in 1897 to work for them. In 1901, Queeny founded the Monsanto Chemical Works. Now known as Monsanto, it is a multinational company and one of the largest agrochemical and biotechnology companies in the USA.
