Descrição:	Lucy, fossil Australopithecine skeleton. Cast of the fossil bones of Lucy (AL 288-1), a fossil hominin skeleton classified as Australopithecus afarensis. Discovered in the Afar region of Ethiopia between 1973 and 1977, Lucy dates from 3.3 million years ago and is one of the earliest links in the human fossil record. The remains include skull fragments, a mandible, most of the left and right arms, vertebrae, rib fragments, sacrum, left pelvic bone, left thigh and right lower leg. The form of the bones and teeth showed her to be female, 20 years old, and between 107 and 122 centimetres tall. Cast made by the Daynes Studio, Paris, France. MANDATORY CREDIT.
