Descrição:	This painted sandstone statue shows the king wearing the ceremonial heb-sed robe - connected to a festival celebrated after 30 years of rule in which the king proves his strength to rule. He is sitting on a throne wearing the Red Crown of Lower Egypt, and a curling false beard. His skin is painted black, representing both the fertile soil from the Nile, and the skin colour of Osiris, accentuating the kings association with the god. The kings arms are crossed over his chest, in a position also typically associated with Osiris. The statue has strong features and disproportionate legs.
