Descrição: A former top A-list boutique hotel is being redeveloped into luxury apartments. The Hempel Hotel in Hyde Park (pictured) is selling its entire contents at auction, including the bed the Beckhams slept in and Michael Jackson’s toilet. The Beckhams’ bed in The Lioness Suite is one of the star items in the auction which takes place on September 12 this year. David and Victoria Beckham were frequent guests at the hotel, a favourite of star celebrities since it opened. In 2006 Michael Jackson booked out the hotel and stayed in the Beluga Suite, which includes a queen size four poster and a pair of wooden oriental chests. Even the bathroom the singer used can also be bought, with two WCs, two bidets and marble basin. There are 40 bedrooms and 20 suites contents to be sold at auction along with many other smaller lots from cutlery to art works and even garden furniture. The Hempel opened in 1997 and sixties star Anouska Hempel designed the interiors of the hotel in a ‘minimalist’ style. Picture by Tony Henshaw
